No. Our DJ staff will perform continuously throughout the night. From our scheduled start time until your party is over, the music will be playing (unless of course you request a break for some other reason).

Our services are based solely upon what you want them to be. We have learned that keeping your crowd alive depends on a lot of things including the type of music, type of mix, DJ personality, atmosphere, etc… but not just the music.

Yes. This may be just as important to you and your event as choosing the music that IS played.

Our music catalog contains over 50,000 songs from several decades, and genres. Often a client will want a song that is somewhat obscure and we may not have it. If this is the case there are two options: you may either supply us with the CD before the event so that we may check it for scratches, or (if you do not own a legal copy) we will attempt to obtain that song before your event at no additional charge to you.  In rare cases it may not be possible to obtain the song. Just give us lots of advance notice (at least 72 hours prior to event) if we need to find a song. If you give us a CD we will return it to you at the end of the night.

One of the greatest concerns of bands and DJs is that the music is too loud. This will not be the case with our services. During your cocktail and dinner hours we will play soft and relaxing background music. The sound will be as evenly dispersed throughout the hall as possible. We will make sure that your guests can hear both themselves talking and the background music. When it comes time for dance music we will adjust accordingly. Speakers may be repositioned. Our staff will adjust the equalization of the music in order to get the right sound for the specific room. We will focus the music in the dance floor area. This means that while the volume is loud enough to dance to on the floor, the rest of the room will be able to continue to hear themselves socialize.

A quality DJ will only use quality components. We pride ourselves on the fact that we have never had a major equipment failure during a gig. While no one can ever be prepared for the unexpected a sign of a poor DJ would be someone who feels the need to carry backup equipment to every gig. Our DJs will have a small amount of replacement equipment on-hand to ensure the music keeps going. If something does fail, it can most likely be easily fixed or switched without you and your guests even knowing. If something major happens (which it never has) an off duty employee may be called upon to provide additional reinforcement.

Our light shows are additional options available to you. Your DJ will help you select a lightshow appropriate to your event. It may be a simple, elegant show or a concert-like show complete with Intelligent lighting. The ultimate decision is up to you. We have the ability to obtain almost any type of lighting available in the market today.

This is another great concern of all customers. The answer is simple: our DJs are as interactive as you want them to be. They can be background figures that keep the attention on the bridal party, completely outgoing, or any level that you desire. We are professional entertainers and can handle your requests without a problem. However, you will never hear your DJ yelling or singing into the microphone. We still maintain a degree of professionalism no matter how outgoing you want us to be. We will use our skills professionally and never steal the spotlight.

Zack Percell, our magician, has been performing for over 20 years, and our Elvis impersonator has been performing for over 40 years!

Our company does not allow any of our employees to consume alcohol before or during any event. We are strict on this policy and you have nothing to worry about. We are professionals and act accordingly.

All TNJ equipment and employees are covered for liability in the event of an unforeseen accident resulting from actions by our staff. However, if equipment or employee is injured or damaged by a client or a guest of the client, the client will be responsible for all damages, as agreed to in the event contract.

While it is common to tip the entertainment industry, it is not mandatory. Our staff is well paid from your fees. However, if your DJ surpasses your expectations and you wish to tip, a 10-15% tip would be considered extremely generous and taken as a great compliment.

This is another common question. The answer is up to you. Our DJs are often at your location for 6 hours or more after setup and takedown time is included. Please let us know if you intend on feeding TNJ staff, if not a 10% convenience fee will be applied to the total of your contract to accomodate the TNJ staff’s needs.

We understand why you would ask this question. Times are tight right now with the current economic state. TNJ Events is happy to make payment arrangements that fit your budget and needs. Your event may require several service providers (wedding planner, caterer, servers, clergymen, etc) so we want to make this as stress-free as possible for you. Please feel free to discuss payment options with our staff when we meet either face to face, or over the phone.

Yes, a down payment is required to secure your event date. Bookings have been made as far as 1 year in advance. We suggest you make your 50% minimum down payment as soon as possible to ensure your special day doesn’t get booked by someone else!

That’s up to you. The remaining full amount can be paid any time after you’ve made your downpayment up to the start of your event. We have had some clients who have paid the full amount all at once.

Our photographer uses high end professional quality equipment and will provide you with a CD containing your photographs. This gives you great flexibility in how you want those printed and where you want to print or use them.
